Lincoln students design IceHogs jersey for charity

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Two students at Rockford's Lincoln Middle School will soon see their design on IceHogs jerseys around town.

Madie Miller and Monica Bautista's design was selected for the Rockford IceHogs 14th annual jersey auction game that will take place on April 7. The jersey has a patriotic design and features Abrahammy Lincoln with "In Hammy We Trust" across the middle of the logo.

After the April 7 game, fans can bid on the jerseys with proceeds going to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. Beneficiaries include the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Rockford, the Junior IceHogs.

Since its inception in 1999, the auctions have raised almost $645,000 for local charities.
