ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Police are investigating an attempted robbery at a Rockford post office.

Just before 9:30 a.m., two men entered the United States Post Office at 1140 Broadway, and demanded cash from an employee. One suspect was armed with a knife.

The first suspect was in his mid-twenties, 5'10" with a medium build, short hair, scruffy facial hair, and a puffy black jacket. The second suspect was in his early to mid-twenties with long hair pulled back into a ponytail.

The two men did not get any cash and left on foot, possibly toward 9th Street. Police believe the robbery is linked to two recent robberies on Broadway.
