Tip leads Rockford Police to narcotics arrest

After receiving a tip from a citizen about possible drug activity at 1427 West Jefferson, members of the Rockford Police Department's Narcotics Unit searched the home.

During the search, one adult male and one adult female were located inside. After a brief struggle, the man, 42-year-old Charles L. Brooks, was arrested.

Over 146 gross grams of cocaine was found in the residence, some of which had been broken down into 71 individual bags. Other items associated with the sale of drugs and cash were also recovered.

The female found in the home was released and not charged, but Brooks was charged with the following:

  • Possession with Intent to Deliver 100 to 400 grams of Cocaine
  • Resisting a Peace Officer
