Fire causes propane tank explosion near Cherry Valley


Several fire departments converged on a home in the 2700 block of Panorama Drive near Cherry Valley Wednesday afternoon after reports of a fire and explosion.

According to authorities, a woman in the kitchen of the home called 911 after she smelled smoke coming from the attached garage. After the woman escaped the home, a propane tank inside the garage exploded, causing extensive damage to both the garage and the home.

No one was injured and the woman is being helped by the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
