Snow emergency ends for Rockford

The snow emergency has been lifted for the City of Rockford.

As of 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the odd/even parking rule is canceled. City crews have finished plowing and salting arterial routes and City contractors are finished with residential routes.

The City of Rockford is reminding residents that contractors are not responsible for alleys.

When a snow emergency is in effect, cars should be parked on the odd side of the street on odd dates (such as March 5) and the even side of the street on even dates (like March 6). Cars should then be moved to the opposite side of the street at 8:00 a.m. the next morning. If one side of the street says "No Parking" cars are allowed to park there during a snow emergency ordinance.
