Rockford College celebrates 166th anniversary with convocation - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

Wednesday, March 6 marks Rockford College's 166th year.
To celebrate, the college is hosting a Charter Day Convocation Wednesday afternoon. The event will feature speeches from President Robert L. Head, Dean of the College Dr. Steve Siconolfi, and Board of Trustees Chair Mr. Charles Colman.
Rockford College alumni Dr. Marc Pfeffer will be the featured speaker. Dr. Pfeffer is a Dzau Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a senior physician at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He is a leader in the fields of cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease, heart failure, diabetes, and chronic kidney disease.
During his visit, Dr. Pfeffer will also meet with UIC/Rockford medical students and attend a reception with local physicians at Giovanni's.
He has also established a scholarship supporting females scholars in science and math in the memory of his late wife, Dr. Janice Sikorski, who also graduated from Rockford College.
