Blackhawk Hills Regional Council gets IDOT funding

Thanks to funding provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Blackhawk Hills Regional Council will be able to give assessments for rural transportation planning in several area counties.

Special emphasis will be given to the Upper Mississippi River International Port District, but assessments will be done on areas in Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties.

The project will help produce plans to assess water, rail, highway, and airport transportation networks throughout the area. Documentation from public meetings, existing plans, established goals, and other alternative solutions will be included in the plan.

The rural transportation plan will be updated on an annual basis by Blackhawk Hills.
