Illinois named 5th best state for corporate facilities

According to Site Selection magazine, the state of Illinois is the fifth best in the nation for new and expanding corporate locations.

The state moved up two spots compared to last year's list, joining Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia in the top ten. Last year, the state had 322 corporate facilities found locations or expand.

Expanding or relocating Illinois corporations include Walgreens, Nippon Sharyo, Chrysler, Woodward, and LaFarge.

"Illinois has the attributes that are most important to business," said Adam Pollet, acting director of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. "We have a strong and diverse economy, premier logistics network, skilled workforce and an entrepreneurial spirit driven by innovation."

Site Selection magazine is one of the country's top corporate real estate and economic development magazines.
