It's Pay it Forward/Inspire Change Week at Winnebago High School, and students got a lesson on how to give back from a recent Super Bowl champion.
Sean Considine of Byron, a member of the Baltimore Ravens, was the keynote speaker for the school's week-long celebration held in honor of Ben Johnson and Cole Trusler. Both Class of 2015 students, Johnson passed away in 2010 after a battle with Neuroblastoma and Trusler passed away in 2011 from injuries sustained in a car crash.
During his speech, Considine shared the importance of giving back and dedicating their lives to something.
"You know, what they're doing for their friends, Ben and Cole, is awesome," Considine said. He added, "I learned a lot and to come here and share my story and see how it kind of incorporates with what they're doing for Ben and Cole and the inspiration they've provided to this whole community, it was just a lot of fun and a good chance to meet some new people."
The school will host a blood drive Friday to cap off the week.
