IceHogs Release Quick from PTO


Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs have released defenseman Kevin Quick from his professional try-out contract.

Quick, 24, joined the Hogs on Feb. 15 and has been held scoreless in three contests. Prior to coming to Rockford, Quick spent the 2012-13 campaign with the South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL, skating in 52 games while posting 13 points (1g-12a).

The Buffalo, N.Y. native has appeared in 173 career AHL tilts, accumulating 34 points (1g-33a) all with the Norfolk Admirals. Quick also skated in six games with the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2008-09 season, tallying one assist.

Next Home Game: Friday, March 1 vs. Peoria Rivermen. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Rockford and Peoria meet for an eighth time this season. The first 1,500 fans to the game will pick up a Hog Nation T-shirt courtesy of Toyota.
