Beloit Police are looking for a man they say tried to take oxycontin and oxycodone from the Walgreens on Madison Road.
The incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27. A man gave a not to an employee requesting the drugs. The employee then informed the pharmacist, who called the police. During that time, the man left the store empty-handed.
The suspect is described as 5'8" to 6' with a medium build. He was wearing a forest green parka with his hood up and fled the scene in a dark-colored (possibly black) full-size pickup truck with a silver tool box in the bed behind the cab. The description matches those of suspects involved in other similar thefts and robberies in Madison area and Janesville Walgreens stores.
The man did not display a weapon or threaten anyone and there were no injuries.
Anyone with any information on the incident is encouraged to call Beloit Police at 608-364-6801 or Beloit Area Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463.
