Rockford Police investigate 2 overnight shootings

Around 11p.m. Wednesday night Rockford Police responded to the 4000 block of Auburn Street for a shooting victim.

When police got to the scene they found a 23 year old male who had been shot in the leg during a robbery. Three suspects fled on foot. The victim is being treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries. This incident is still under investigation.

Rockford police responded to another shooting Wednesday night, this time around 2am in the area of Broadway and 7th Street.

Police found many shell casings, but no victims at the scene. Shortly after that a victim turned up at a local hospital with a gun shot wound to the wrist. The suspect was last seen heading eastbound from 7th Avenue driving in a silver Buick. This incident is still under investigation.
