Rockford police respond to home invasion


At around one o'clock this morning, Rockford police responded to the 3600 block of Cardinal Lane for a home invasion.

A male resident, his girlfriend and their one year old child were at home when they heard someone on their door. Three suspects forced their way into the resident's bedroom, as the man, his girlfriend, and child escaped out the window to a neighbors for safety. One suspect was armed with a handgun.

The suspects were last seen heading east bound on Cardinal Avenue. The man in the residence was later charged with drug possession.
