Hy-Vee dog food recalled throughout Midwest

Certain bags of Hy-Vee dog food have been recalled throughout Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, and other Midwestern states.

Certain products were found to have higher than normal levels of alflatoxin, a naturally occurring toxic chemical commonly found in corn. Alflatoxin has been linked to liver damage and symptoms of alflatoxin poisoning include vomiting, bloody diarrhea, lethargy, fever, and yellowish eyes. If your dog is experiencing any of those symptoms, a veterinarian should be contacted immediately.

The products were distributed between October 26, 2012 and January 11, 2013. Anyone who has any of the following recalled products should discard them immediately:
