A 20-year-old Rockford man is dead after being shot in the chest.

Around 10:15 p.m. Monday night, Rockford Police responded to a gunshot victim at Rockford Memorial Hospital. According to Winnebago County Coroner Sue Fiduccia, Jimmy Hollins died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers located the scene of the shooting at a home in the 300 block of Underwood Street.

Rockford Police detectives are investigating the shooting. Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Rockford Police Department at (815) 987-5824.
