Rockford teens arrested for attempted armed robbery


A couple of teenagers are behind bars after Rockford Police respond to calls for shots fired.

It happened around 9:30pm Thursday night.  Officers went to Belmont and Normandy, witnesses told police two men tried to rob them and that they had a gun.   After finding a car matching the description given to them, police found Jaleel Lake, 17 and Donquez Ashford hiding in a shed.  Both Lake and Ashford were arrested and face attempted armed robbery, aggravated battery and mob action charges.
