Rockford church sends group to Honduras

A Rockford church spreads the word of God outside of the United States.

A total of fifteen people from Christ the Rock Lutheran Church will journey to Tegucigalpa, Honduras for a week long medical mission trip.  The church has made the trip in past years, but it is taking some new faces this time around.  The youth group members and adults leave early Saturday morning.  They'll take bins full of medical supplies, including eye glasses.  They'll also have every day items like tooth paste, tooth brushes, hair ribbons and nail polish for the girls.  This is the first time Doreen Peterson is going on the trip. She'll will focus on medical treatment and sharing the gospel.  "We've put together some teaching bracelets. Each bead represents a different color. So I'll be sharing the gospel story with the children, so that they can learn about the gospel and they can teach it to their friends also. So spirit of Jesus is basically what we're going for."

The group will join World Gospel Outreach which is a ministry organization doing mission work in Honduras.
