Former Congressman Manzullo honored by RFD

Posted: Updated:
ROCKFORD (WREX) -

The legacy lives on for Rockford's longtime former congressman.

Don Manzullo's name will greet passengers coming to RFD from overseas.  The airport unveiled the newly-named Donald A. Manzullo International  Terminal.  Manzullo worked to get RFD "international" status.  The terminal opened in 2005.  It was expanded in 2010, and increased the airport's reach to current destinations like Cancun, Jamaica, and Punta Cana.

Manzullo says he always believed in the airport's potential and says he's confident RFD will continue to be an economic driver for the Rockford region.

Manzullo left Congress after 20 years last month.  He's now head of the Korea Economic Institute of America in Washington, D.C.
