Aquin's Girls Head Back to State


Aquin's girls basketball team is heading to State for the 2nd straight season after defeating Westminster Christian 57-39 in the DeKalb Super-Sectional.

Sophie Brunner led the way with 26 points, 12 rebounds, 8 steals and 4 blocks. Aquin will face Annawan in the State Semi-Final Friday at 12:15 at Redbird Arena.

Byron's girls weren't as lucky in the 2-A Monmouth Super-Sectional. The Lady Tigers lost 49-39. Sophie Reecher had 11 points and 7 rebounds in the loss as Byron finishes the season 31-3.

Rockford Lutheran's girls season came to an end in the Genoa-Kingston Sectional Semi-Final as Sterling held off the Lady Crusaders 60-54.
