During the week of Valentine's Day, local members of the Hospice Care of America are showing their love for veterans.
The group will hold the third annual We Honor Veterans—No Greater Love pinning ceremonies to show love and appreciation to local veterans. The group visited Medina Manor in Durand on Wednesday and will be at Provena Cor Mariae on Friday.
During the ceremony in Durand, the United States Navy SEAL Cadets posted the colors and saluted the veterans. Veterans received pins as well as certificates and handmade valentines from Durand children.
"What a better day than to show love and gratitude than around Valentine's Day," Hospice Care of America Bereavement Coordinator Barb Martin said. "So get out there, thank a veteran, show your love and gratitude, because our freedom isn't free and they've had to fight for it and we need to thank them for that."
