Former Chicago Bears cornerback Donnell Woolford came to Rockford and spoke at Lincoln Middle School Wednesday.
He talked about his life, NFL career and the importance of Black History Month.
"Black history month is very important," Woolford said. "Everybody should want to learn about history because it brings us into the now to today. Our youth should always learn and talk and learn about black history month because there are people that died for their freedom."
Woolford had 32 interceptions during his time with the Chicago Bears.
