A community meeting held Tuesday discussed ideas on how to improve life for those in Rockford's Fairgrounds and Ellis Heights.
One of the topics discussed during the Community Partners meeting was teaching teenagers how to fill out job applications and one Resident Council administrator is willing to take on the challenge of motivating teens.
"Most of the males, don't have male role models here, and most of the male role models that are there, isn't actually being a good role model," Fairgrounds Resident Council Vice President Myron Simmons said. "So it's kind of challenging because you're trying to be positive where negative is."
Simmons says anyone from the community is welcome to attend the meetings.
