After almost ten years, Dr. Martin Lipsky, MD, will resign as regional dean of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.
Dr. Lipsky is resigning effective March 7 to join his wife Dr. Darice Zabak, MD, in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Lipsky says, "I love my job, but nothing is more important than family."
During his tenure as dean, the campus has added a new regional College of Pharmacy, a new master's degree program in medical biotechnology, the MERIT program to address child abuse in the region, endowed professorships, and a 58,000 square foot campus renovation and expansion.
The college is now searching for a new regional dean with an announcement expected in early March.
