Memo issued by Illinois union warns of state workers strike

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD (WREX) -

A memo issued by a union representing state workers in Illinois could be a sign of a possible strike.

The memo, from the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, gives tips to members on how to prepare for a strike. Members were advised to set aside money and to avoid making major purchases until the possibility of a strike has passed.

AFSCME and Governor Pat Quinn have not been able to come to an agreement on contract negotiations.
