Byron Holds off Oregon for Regional Title


In their third matchup of the season, Byron held off Oregon for a 61-56 win in Byron's 2-A Regional championship game. The win puts the Lady Tigers in the Somonauk Sectional.

Sophie Reecher led the way with 24 points and 8 rebounds, while Ellie Lehne added 20 points and 6 rebounds for Byron.

Devyn Absher and Samantha Lambrigsten had 15 points apiece for Oregon in a losing effort.

Byron improves to 28-2, while Oregon ends the season 23-7. The 23 wins is a school record for Oregon.
