Rockford declares snow emergency for Thursday

The City of Rockford has declared a snow emergency and instituted Odd/Even Parking Rules beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7.

During a snow emergency, cars should be parked on the odd or even side of the street, depending on the date. For February 7, cars should be parked on the odd side of the street. If the snow emergency is still in effect tomorrow, cars should be moved to the even side of the street prior to 8:00 a.m.

If a street is marked "No Parking" on one side, cars are allowed to legally park on that side during a snow emergency. Also, even if a street is plowed, cars must remain appropriately parked until the snow emergency is lifted.

Cars parked in violation of the parking rules will be fined $50.
