A Rockton woman, accused of leaving her newborn baby outside to freeze to death, will make what's supposed to be her final appearance in court before her trial.
Katie Stockton faces 12 counts of first degree murder for the death of baby "Crystal". The infant was left along a rural Winnebago County road back in December of 2004. Stockton wasn't arrested until 2009. She's been in the Winnebago County Jail ever since. Lawyers are scheduled to go over some final pre-trial motions in court Friday afternoon. Stockton's trial is still scheduled to start in front of Judge John Truitt February 25th.
The bodies of two other babies were found in the trunk of Stockton's impounded car in 2010. She hasn't been charged in those cases.
