Hundreds of millions of dollars for road projects and abuse investigators for the Department of Children and Family Services is set to be approved by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn.
The legislation was passed by the Senate 38 to 15 on Thursday. The legislation includes over $600 million in federal and state funding for spring road projects. Twenty-five million dollars from the closure of correctional facilities will help finance child abuse investigators and employees with DCFS.
Conservative opponents to the bill complained it included $2 billion in spending.
