Several athletes from the Rockford area signed National Letters of Intent on Signing Day.
Hononegah track star Courtney Clayton signed to run track at Vanderbilt. Clayton was the NIC-10 female athlete of the year last year and posted the third fastest 800-meter time in the history of the IHSA when she won state this past spring.
Logan Tillmon of East High School signed to run track at Northern Illinois. Tillmon won a conference title last year, and says she's excited to stay close to home for college.
Boylan had three soccer players sign to play in college. Sydney Rumple will attend Valparaiso, Abby Reed will play at Indiana State, and Santina Graceffa will continue her career at Tiffin.
Two Rockford Lutheran athletes also signed to continue their playing careers. Olivia Cain will head to Quincy, while Krista Carlson heads to Valparaiso.
There were no division one football signings this year, but Freeport's Darian Johnson will play at Quincy. Boylan's Sean Slattery will kick at Illinois State next year. The Titans will hold a football signing ceremony next week.
