U.S. Representative Aaron Schock is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for allegations he sought donations to a super PAC backing Representative Adam Kinzinger.
According to the allegations, the Illinois Republican asked Republican House Majority Leader Eric Cantor to give $25,000 from his leadership PAC to a super PAC backing Kinzinger when Kinzinger faced Rep. Don Manzullo in the March 2012 primary.
The House Ethics Committee released a report on the case from the Office of Congressional Ethics on Wednesday, but says the investigation into Schock is not an implication that he actually committed a violation.
A spokesman for Schock has denied wrongdoing and claims the case has no merit.
