City of Beloit declares snow emergency for Thursday and Friday

BELOIT (WREX) -

The City of Beloit has declared a snow emergency from 3:00 p.m. on Thursday to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

During the snow emergency, no vehicles are allowed to be parked or left standing on city streets. Vehicles should be parked in driveways or designated off-street parking lots. Any vehicles found to be in violation can be towed or ticketed.

The following lots are designated for parking during snow emergencies:

  • Krueger Park Upper Lot, Hackett St. at House St. - East lots only
  • Krueger Golf Course Lot, 1611 Hackett St. - South Lot between designated signs
  • Wootten Park, 4th Street at Maple Ave. - South end between designated signs
  • Riverside Park Rotary Center, 1220 Riverside Dr. - Two Center Row between the signs
  • Riverside Park Jones Shelter, access via westbound Portland Ave. - All areas
  • Angel Museum, 656 Pleasant Street - All areas
  • Iron Works South Parking Lot, 3rd St. and Grand Ave. - West side of lot along 4th St. fence between designated signs
  • Iron Works North Parking Lot, Ironworks and 3rd St. - North end of lot between designated signs
  • 4th St. Public Parking, westside of 4th St. between La Casa Grande and Brass Rail - Center island between designated signs
  • West Grand Public Parking , 229 West Grand Ave. - Between designated signs
  • Telfer Park Parking Lot, 2100 Cranston Rd. - South East Lot between designated signs

The city is encouraging residents to stay home and only travel if necessary and with extreme caution.
