Harlem Toll Plaza closing April 1 - WREX.com – Rockford’s News Leader

The Winnebago County Highway Department is encouraging people with tokens for the Harlem Toll Plaza to use them quickly, because the toll will be gone soon.
Winnebago County will no longer collect tolls at the plaza on Bauer Parkway as of April 1. Anyone with tokens is encouraged to use them prior to midnight on March 31, but there will be a buyback program in place for individuals with excess tokens.
The bridge was initially constructed in 1993. The debt for it was fully paid off by the toll on December 31, 2012.
