FileEven though it's only February, teens around the area are gearing up for prom season. However, for those who may not be able to afford the fancy dresses and accessories that go along with it, Becca's Closet is here to help.
The boutique, located at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, will officially open on Saturday, March 9. It distributes formalwear free of charge to girls who would not otherwise be able to attend prom or other special events.
Becca's Closet features dresses, shoes, and accessories, and takes donations that are clean and in good condition. Plus-size dresses and short gowns are especially needed.
You can donate at the following locations:
The boutique gave away 550 dresses last year. Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 1829 North Rockton Avenue in Rockford, and Becca's Closet is open from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through May 11.
Becca's Closet is operated by Lutheran Ministries and the Auburn High School Key Club.
