The hard work of students at Meehan Elementary School in Belvidere has paid off in the form of a $500 math and science grant from Belvidere Mobil.
The grant was made possible by the Exxon/Mobil Education Alliance Program, Kelly Williamson Co., and Tony Dal Pra's Belvidere Mobil. The money will be used for classroom materials, professional development, supplies for the school's annual science fair, and a science-related school assembly.
"Meehan Elementary School works very hard to make learning interesting and challenging for all students," Dal Pra said. "We are proud to help the young people of the Belvidere community by giving this grant money to be used for math or science."
The school is one of 4,000 around the country to receive funds through the program.
