Woman stabbed in Walgreen's parking lot

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A woman was attacked and stabbed in the parking lot of the Walgreen's in the 3300 block of North Main Street.

Rockford Police responded to the store just after 9:30 p.m. on February 3. The victim told officers she was attacked after leaving the store. A man tried to take her bag and stabbed her in the side. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

After a follow-up investigation, 20-year-old Jordan J. Filer, a homeless man, was located in the area and arrested. He has been arrested and charged with the following:

  • Attempted Armed Robbery
  • Aggravated Battery with a Knife

Due to the ongoing investigation, Rockford Police are not officially releasing a photograph of Filer.
