Meehan Elementary students get visit from four-legged friend

A very special visitor made an appearance at Belvidere's Meehan Elementary School on Monday to celebrate the conclusion of the school's One School, One Book program.

Meehan students and their families have all been reading the book Because of Winn Dixie. This week, to mark the end of the program, Kye the Comfort Dog will spend time with students at the school. Kye recently spent time with students from Sandy Hook Elementary School, the scene of a December shooting that left 20 children and 6 adults dead.

The school will also celebrate the completion of the book with a book fair and movie night on Friday, February 8.
