Black Professional Networking Group getting started in Rockford


The brainchild of two young professionals, the Black Professional Networking Group (BPN) hopes to help connect black professionals in the Rockford community and beyond.

The group aims to bring community leaders, entrepreneurs, civic servants, and professionals together to better the community and themselves. Some goals of the group include encouraging community participation, build or enhance current business relationships, practice and master soft skills, and harvest a supportive network for black professionals in the community.

The group will meet once a month, on Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. The upcoming schedule of meetings is:

  • February 28 - Greenfire
  • March 28 - Bistro 108
  • April 25 - District
  • May 30 - Artale Wine Co.
  • June 27 - Location TBD
  • July 25 - Vintage@501
