Belvidere woman arrested; accused of murdering her fiance


On Saturday, February 2, 2013, Belvidere Police arrested a subject in connection to a domestic stabbing death.

Jaime L. Page, 19 years old female of Belvidere was charged with one count of first degree murder.   Page remains in custody at the Boone County Jail on a $1,000,000 (10%) bond. 

On February 2, 2013, at approximately 5:50 am, Belvidere patrol officers responded to the 200 block of Garden Drive, Belvidere, Illinois in reference to a subject stabbed.   Officers arrived on the scene and discovered that the victim, Jacob Vanzant, age 20 of bBvidere, Illinois had been stabbed.  Belvidere Fire Department and Lifeline ambulance personnel treated Vanzant at the scene.  Vanzant was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital where he later died.

Jaime pPge was taken into custody at the scene by Belvidere patrol officers.  On February 2, 2013, at approximately 12:40 PM, Belvidere Police detectives executed a search warrant at Page's residence.  Page and Vanzant lived together and were engaged to be married.  The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. 

A first degree murder charge is punishable by twenty (20) to sixty (60) years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
