Winnebago County Sheriff's Office offering scholarship

WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WREX) -

Thanks to funding from the Illinois Sheriff's Association, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office is giving out a $500 scholarship.

Sheriff Richard A. Meyers will award one scholarship. The only limitations for applications are:

  • Applicants must be a permanent Illinois resident
  • Scholarships must be used at institutions of higher learning in Illinois
  • Students must be enrolled full time during the 2013 to 2014 school year (excluding summer session)

Applications are available at the Sheriff's Office and online at www.ilsheriff.org. The completed application, essay question, and all documentation must be returned to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office by March 15.
