
You can get a piece of history and help a local action committee while shopping at Rockford's JustGoods during Black History Month.
The Seventh Street store will feature civil rights and Black memorabilia books and posters and a display of political pins from the civil rights era. All proceeds of the Black History Month Sale will benefit the Rockford Peace & Justice Action Committee.
Some collectibles will also be in the store, such as civil rights pamphlets from the 1960s, a Harper's Weekly illustration by Thomas Nast from 1870, and an 1865 copy of an abolitionist newspaper.
JustGoods Fair Trade Store is located at 201 Seventh Street in Rockford and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The sale runs through February 28.
