Body of missing US pilot found in Adriatic Sea

The body of a pilot whose F-16 fighter jet went down over the Adriatic has been found.

Captain Lucas Gruenther's body was found in the Adriatic Sea on Thursday afternoon. The U.S. Air Force pilot was on a nighttime training mission when his jet went missing Monday. Debris believed to belong to his plane were found earlier in the week.

Gruenther was based at Aviano Air Base in Italy with the 31st Fighter Wing, but the United States Air Force has not released his age. According to the Modesto (California) Bee, Gruenther is from Twain Harte, California.
