
Projects in South Beloit, Oregon, and Rochelle will each get a portion of the nearly $50 million announced Wednesday for Illinois transportation improvement projects.
The funding comes from the federally-funded Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP), and will support over 400 jobs in 54 projects throughout the state. Locally, the following projects will receive funding:
ITEP promotes alternative transportation options like bike and pedestrian travel, as well as streetscape beautification. The program is competitive, federally-funded, and local matching funds are required. Work must begin within three years.
