Latest Forecast from the 13 Weather Authority:
The round of snowfall that occurred late this morning remained consistent with the previous forecasts. Totals ranged from 3 to 6 inches of snow to the north and west of Rockford, around 2 inches in metro Rockford, and a dusting to an inch in areas south and east of Rockford. For this afternoon, another batch of snow will move in from the southwest. Additional accumulations of up to an inch are possible across northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. A north-northwest wind will be sustained between 15 and 25mph with gusts up to 35mph, creating some blowing and drifting on rural roadways. Temperatures will continue to tumble from the lower 30s to the lower 20s by dinnertime and the threat for accumulating snow will end. Overnight low temperatures will be in the single digits with wind chills below zero.
