ROCKFORD (WREX) -

A good Samaritan gets their car stolen trying to help four people in a roll over accident.

Around 10:40 Tuesday night Rockford Police responded to the 1000 block of Seminary Road for a roll over accident.

According to Rockford Police, there were at least four people in the car. After the crash the driver ran off on foot while an adult male and two women remained in the car.

When the car's engine caught on fire, a good Samaritan stopped to help. That's when the man still at the scene of the rollover stole the good Samaritan's car.

The man driving the stolen car was caught soon after by Rockford Police and has been admitted to the hospital for injuries from the accident. He will face charges upon his release.
