A former Meridian School District employee sues the district and the superintendent for discrimination.
Jennifer Porter was the district's administrator for business and human resources. She worked for the district from 2007 through June 2012. Porter took a medical leave of absence and says while she was gone, Superintendent Robert Morelan hired someone to replace her. She claims the district discriminated against her because she was a woman and because of her medical leave for stress and depression. We left a message for a comment from the district's lawyer but didn't hear back. The board's president says board members aren't ready to comment.
