Spanish and Polish speakers seeking unemployment benefits and new jobs can now do so in their native language.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security is now offering electronic applications for unemployment benefits in Spanish and Polish. The department's employment website, illinoisjoblink.com, is now also offered in those languages.
"Today's news is a win for all taxpayers in Illinois because it increases access to services and saves taxpayer money," IDES Director Jay Rowell said. "Translating additional online services allows us to serve people in a way that is more convenient for them."
IDES converted important documents on its website to Spanish, Polish, Simplified Chinese, and Russian last year. To translate the site, simply click on the translator button in the upper-right corner of the homepage. Other translations are available upon request.
