UPS Store offering free postage on valentines to soldiers

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

The UPS Store is helping to spread the love just in time for Valentine's Day.

Operation: S.W.A.K. (Sealed With a Kiss) has been launched at the store's Rockford location. It allows residents to show their love and support to deployed military personnel or veterans in VA hospitals.

"A handwritten card or letter is a simple way to pay tribute to the efforts and sacrifices of the brave men and women who serve our country," UPS Store Manager Lisa Wilk said.

In order to be eligible for free postage, the mail needs to be addressed to a specific U.S. serviceman or woman at an assigned APO/FPO address, or a specific veteran in a VA hospital. The mail must also have a valid return address.

Greetings should be sent by January 31 for overseas delivery by Valentine's Day, but cards and letters will be accepted through February 14.

The UPS Store is located at 7431 East State Street in Rockford.
