Loves Park man arrested for Ogle County burglaries

A 32-year-old Loves Park man has been arrested and charged with two counts of residential burglary in Ogle County.

Sheldon J. Wheaton was tied to two December burglaries, one in rural Leaf River and the other in rural Lindenwood, from citizen accounts of a suspicious vehicle and a partial license plate number.

Several items taken in the burglaries were recovered from a Rockford residence, in addition to a stolen television from DeKalb County.

Wheaton was arrested and charged for the burglaries. Police say he traveled door-to-door in rural areas selling frozen meat and looking for unoccupied homes.
