Aquin Holds Off Forreston to Take Over 1st Place in NUIC East

FREEPORT (WREX) -

Aquin's girls basketball team likely sealed up an NUIC East conference championship with a 56-45 win over Forreston Thursday night on Senior Night in Freeport. Future Arizona State Sun Devil Sophie Brunner filled the stat sheet with 21 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 blocks.

Haley Chang added 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who improve to 9-1 in the conference, a game ahead of Forreston. Anna Drake led the Lady Cardinals with 18 points.
