Rockford police arrest 2 for burglary

ROCKFORD (WREX) -

Officers with the Rockford Police Department responded to a call of a burglary in progress at 422 Kishwaukee Street just before noon on Thursday.

A citizen told police two people crawled through the window of an abandoned business, dragging a ladder through the window once they were inside. The two suspects were arrested by police near the intersection of 5th Street and 5th Avenue after they left the building.

Felipe B. Hernandez, 30, and Robert P. Rees, 47, were arrested for the burglary. Investigation showed the ladder was used to reach an electrical box that was pried away from the wall.
